Ancient Greek Erotic

Today a scan of a set of glass mats I once bought on Crete. It's not old, but the pictures on it are.

I bought the set together with a nice book about a related topic: "La Vie Amoureuse de Grecs Anciens" by Sofia A. Souli. Perhaps I once will make scans of illustrations from it. For now you may be pleased with a scan of the cover:

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, the Dutch Penthouse Comix brought a "Penthouse Comix Erotic Poster Art Box 1998." Part of it was a set of postcards of paintings that would be sold at Gallery Donkersloot in Amsterdam. It was a pleasure to me to scan them for you. Enjoy it!

Blondie in "Lonely"

Today I will pay somme attention to my comics collection. I am not intending to scan all of the items, but some special ones I will. Starting with a Blondie parody. Wikipedia tells about Blondie:

Blondie is an American comic strip created by Murat Bernard "Chic" Young and syndicated by King Features Syndicate. It has been published in newspapers since September 8, 1930. The success of the comic strip led to a long-run Blondie film series (1938-1950) and a popular Blondie radio program (1939-1950).
But I am more interested in the "Tijuana bible"-version of Blondie.
Tijuana bibles (also known as bluesies, eight-pagers, gray-backs, Jiggs-and-Maggie books, jo-jo books, Tillie-and-Mac books, two-by-fours and fuck books) were pornographic comic books produced in the United States from the 1920s to the early 1960s. Their popularity peaked during the Great Depression era. The typical "bible" is 4 by 6 inches (approx. 10 x 15 cm), with black printing on cheap white paper, and eight pages long.

Between 1930 and 1950 Berna Pantz Presents Blondie in "Lonely" appeared:

Games

Another subject, we must pay attention to, is "games."

Today I will give you three examples of card games I got.

Enjoy them.

The saying "A dirty mind is a joy for ever" seems to have inspired the makers of the Erotic Memory Game I once bought in the Amsterdam Erotic Shop "Female & Partners," if I remember correctly.

The box, of which you can see the top and one of the sides above, measures 12.5x12.5x4 cm.

The little memory cards measure 5.3x5.3 cm, and have a "satin look" back side.

The next games have been gifts with the Dutch Penthouse Comix Magazine I mentioned earlier.
The first one is an "Erotic Quartet Game," with cards measuring 7x5 cm.
The categories are:

Dick Piercings (Hole Filler/Bonehead/Ball Bearer/Ring Tilter)
Toewax (compare: Earwax) (High-Flying/Sweaty Soles/Spread Toes/Toewax)
Second Skin (Horeca/Crime/Recreation/Care Sector)
Bosom Friends (Mad Dolly/Eye Candy/Mama Mia/Farrah Façade)
Festal Vaginas (Ting-a-Ling/Pinch-a-Thing/Ring-a-Ding/Chain Link)
Spring-Cleaning (Rinsing/Soaking/Cleaning/Scouring)
Mouth Shut (Plaster/Dish-Cloth/Muzzle/Skipping-Rope)
Handstands (Twaddling/Taking Aim/Licking/Lapping
Lip-Reading (Fold/Blabber/Mussel/Stripe)

The back sides of the Erotic Quartet Game shows an ad for an Erotic Sex Phone:
"The best place for an orgy, Cum soon in my hot pussy"

The last one is another Memory Game: PCX Memory, the cards measure 4.8x4.8 cm

Les Dames s'Amusent

A few weeks ago I published a booklet called "Les Dames s'Amusent," with etchings, that were made after a series of pen-drawings by Jan Asselbergs.
I am happy I finally found the original portfolio of etchings. Could not be so hard, because the size of the etches is 26x31.5 cm, so the portfolio is even bigger. As I told you before, I found it in a Gallery called "De 3 Gratiën" (the 3 Graces), what I did not mention was that I was lucky to find the #1 print of an edition limited to 100 copies.
I hope you will enjoy, the now larger and thus better, version of the etchings.

"...That completed series of pen-drawings that got the perhaps not quite so friendly working title LES DAMES S'AMUSENT, originated in the early seventies (of the 20th century, Xa). From what? From being busy with pen and ink, with Japanes engracings. From being in love, with the material as well with the bodies of the young ladies and the sticks around them. From a kind of professional voyeurism. From the challenge that originates with the subject per se, I mean: one model is a problem; two of them, and moreover, in motion, is almost impossible. And don't forget: now, in 1985, there is nothing special, let it be, shocking, about the subject. In those days there was..."
(From an interview withJAN ASSELBERGS).

This portfolio has been edited during winter 1985-1986 by De Bospers, Oosterbeek (The Netherlands) in co-operation with Galerie d'O in Amsterdam. The edition is limited to 100 numbered copies that were signed by the artist drawer.
This is nr. 1./100
